Old musician of the year

Musical notes

Who knows, maybe one day it will come in handy at a team building event . . .

If you've been to the qualifications page, you'll have noticed the Grade 8 piano and ABRSM Diploma in Piano Performance, testaments to the fact that, I have always had a strong interest in music.

While at school I sang in the Aberdeen Choral Society and participated in performances of Handel's Messiah and Mendelssohn's Elijah (back in 1983).  Later, I was part of a Glasgow choir in a performance of Bach's St. John's Passion. These are fairly monumental works. Later on I was a member of the award winning Close Shave Chorus, singing top tenor in four-part barbershop style renditions of old time tunes.

More recently, my keyboard skills have come more to the fore, for example, receiving a commendation from the Stratford and East London Music Festival in the Open Recital class; to stepping in to help out with accompanying the nativity performance at the local primary school just last year.

Currently, I am rehearsing Schubert's Fantasy in F minor, and hope to post a video in the near future. Keep 'em peeled!
